94 point Drikkevindue: 2019 - 2034 Aging beautifully The 2009 Chianti Classico Vigneto San Marcellino is powerful, dark and super-intense, all the results of the very warm year. Even so, the wine has retained incredible freshness. I would never have guessed the 2009 is nearly a decade old. Sage, lavender, plum and a host of Mediterranean herbs add aromatic nuance, but it is the integrity of the fruit that stands out most. The 2009 is aging beautifully.
